Here at our Arizona Arts Academy Sierra Vista/Hereford Campus, our mission is to accept a child where they are at in their educational journey. Our unique campus offers our students an outdoor experience while receiving a quality education along with instruction in the fine arts. We provide a healthy environment to allow them to become lovers of lifelong learning by nurturing that innate desire, and in turn, become trailblazers by blazing a path for others to find this in themselves.
We do this by taking a classical/Montessori approach to education which places the child, rather than the teacher, at the forefront of the educational experience. It is a comprehensive mastery-based approach where teachers are guides/tutors/facilitators. Lectures are brief and infrequent. Most learning happens independently, or in one-on-one and small group sessions with lots of hands-on exploration experiences. While core subjects are the focus of daily learning, enriching electives focused on the arts are embedded throughout the day. This unique environment gives our students the chance to explore and cultivate their talents both academically and artistically.
Please reach us at admin@azarts.academy if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Tuition is $10,000 a year per student. ESA funds cover an average of about $7000 of that. Each child qualifies differently, so we cannot give an exact amount. Arts fees are not included. There are scholarships available to help cover the difference.
Universal ESA (Empowerment Scholarship Account) is a new Arizona State government program that gives parents financial help to pay for a school of their choice.
Scholarships are available to any family who can't afford the tuition, even with the ESA funds. Parents can volunteer talents or a set amount of hours per week in exchange for the remainder of the tuition in exchange for a scholarship. Some examples of ways you can volunteer include teacher aids, tutoring, teaching a specific arts class, coming on weekends to clean or maintain property, handyman services, leading or joining our PTSO, or Activity Coordinator (parties, field trips...etc.) *Be aware, most of these will require an IVP fingerprint card if working directly with students. The parent is responsible for acquiring the card.
Pencils, snacks (Motts fruit snacks, fresh fruit, cheese sticks, Goldfish crackers, etc.), plastic forks and spoons, printer paper, Kleenex, etc. For snacks, we do try to avoid artificial dyes, especially red 40.
Paper towels, Clorox wipes (or equivalent), toilet paper, 30 gal pull tie trash bags
Hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle, nail clippers, basic cough drops, Vaseline, medical tape, band-aides, ice packs, feminine hygiene products, children and adult pain killers
Acrylic paint, Paint Brushes, Markers, Paint markers, Canvases (Large & Medium), Air Dry Clay, Ceramic Clay, Peg boards for melty beads, etc.
Used is OK as long as it is in great condition.
We love to play and explore outside!
