High school can and should be one of the most exciting times in a young person’s life. It is a time of growth and self-discovery, and a pivotal moment when children become young adults.
Here at Arizona Arts Academy our goal is to nurture, motivate and guide those young minds to help them prepare for the world they will be entering, as well as to help them remain creative, hopeful, and inspired. We offer a number of courses alongside their core standards that will help prepare them for their brilliant futures, such as Family and Social Psychology and High School Culinary. Our high schoolers are offered the opportunity to get job experience by running and working in our school’s Road Runner Café – a snack bar open to students and teachers during lunch time.
High school students have the option to take online college courses in lieu of the core class options we offer here at our program through concurrent enrollment, as well as other college subjects they may be interested in taking. We realize not all of our high schoolers are on the traditional college bound path, but are excited to pursue careers in the trade industry. We are excited to provide them with the opportunity to enroll in Cochise College’s diverse CTE certificate programs where they can receive high school and college credit for their participation. By graduation our high schoolers who get involved in this CTE program option will have a jump start on a career in the field of their interest. Some of these certificate programs include Welding, Cyber Security, Nursing, Medical Assistance, and many others. We offer our young adults every opportunity available to springboard them into their futures, and we prioritize advocating for each individual student’s success.
